Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion will release this July for $19.99, $10 less than its predecessor, and narrow the gap between Apple’s mobile and desktop operating systems. Mountain Lion will also take a bite out of social media as it comes with the popular platforms integrated within its presence – something that has been notable in Windows 8.

A Quick Look at Mac OS X Mountain Lion
In addition to what was already presented in February, we can expect Mountain Lion to contain the following features.
- Full integration with social media, including Flickr, Twitter, Facebook. You will get notifications through the new notification center whenever you receive a message, mention or email.
- Power Nap updates your Mac and get’s your messages while your Mac is asleep.
- Messages, currently available in Beta, will replace iChat
- Full integration with online storage utility iCloud
- Diction, allowing your Mac to type what you speak.
- Game Center
While Facebook integration will be included, Apple said it would only become available in an update and would not ship with the initial release.
Users can upgrade to Mountain Lion through the Mac App Store and will be able to upgrade Snow Leopard and Lion systems.
