In a long anticipated “awesome” announcement by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg on the launch of a new feature, Facebook moved forward to bridge the gap between its services and new features that could make Google+ a hit.
Facebook will be rolling out its new chat design starting today which will allow group chats and video chat powered by Skype.
The new chat tool features a sidebar that shows all of the people that a person chats with most often which adjusts in size based on the browser size. The sidebar is meant to make it easier for people with larger browser windows to chat.
If you don’t see the new interface, or can’t call a contact, go to this page, click Get Started and on the person’s profile, a Call option will be available.

Now that Facebook has group chat and video call, it will be difficult for other platforms to compete with Facebook.
