Shuttleworth on Ubuntu Touch: Usable in a Couple of Weeks

Sunday, March 3, 2013

As you were able to see in my short review of Ubuntu for Touch devices, (Ubuntu Touch as Mark Shuttleworth calls it) it was incomplete, at best. Although, to be fair, it was only a developer preview; something to show developers what's going on and how this thing works.

The current developer preview features a few core apps like the phone, and media player, as well as some dummy data provided as an example. Though no sane person could use this on a daily basis without getting frustrated at the lack of functionality.

However, this will soon change according to Shuttleworth:

…you can’t really use [the current developer preview] as your every day driver, but in a couple of weeks you’ll be able to.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more information on the matter.
