Not everyone wants to be publically known and have lots of people follow them. Some people don’t want their conversations or life for that matter to be seen by complete strangers. Google + has taken the initiative to put Privacy in your hands. Here is how to use it to the fullest.
Start by clicking on your name on the top right corner of Google + and choose Privacy.
You will be greeted by this page.
You can tinker with it yourself, but I will show you the major settings to take into account.
First, go to Edit Visibility on Profile. You will be greeted by the following page,
Scroll down to the last option called Search Visibility. Click on it and uncheck it to get yourself out of the search engine.
Then, you might want to keep who you have around you private as well. Scroll up and look to the left where you have the circles option. It will look like the following screenshot by default. Unchecking the two major check boxes will quickly do the trick.
If you want to use the email service, make sure that the only people who can see it are your circles. The option is just above the circles.
Make sure that the rest of the fields pertain to only your circles. Once you have finished, click Done Editing.
Whenever you post something, make sure that Public isn’t in the to see list and from this point on, only you and your close knit circles can see what is happening in your life.
Click the X next to the Public box and it will disappear.
Google + has some features that Facebook doesn’t have pertaining to privacy. If you want to disable resharing – when people share your posts to their sets of friends, go to the arrow at the top right corner of the post and click Disable Resharing.
If you ever want to see what others see, you can use the view profile as feature.
Google + makes it easy to control your privacy settings which allows you to connect to your inner circles and nothing more.
Want to See it for Yourself? Fill out this form and we will send you an invite to your Gmail account! For more details, follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
