Getting a Preview Pane in Gmail

Most Hotmail users and people who use a Mail client to receive and send mail are used to having the ability to preview their mail while they scroll through it. It is also available in Gmail as well, but you just have to enable it. Here’s how.

1. In Gmail, go to the options menu on the right side and choose Mail Settings
   
2. Go to the Labs tab.
   
3. Enable the Preview Pane by Peter B and Michael K.
   
4. Save Changes.
   
5. Gmail will reload and the job isn’t done yet – although changes will be noticeable. Go to the new button on the top right-hand side.
   
6. Choose the view you want. I prefer the vertical split – makes it look like Hotmail.
   
7. Now you will have a preview with every conversation thread.
