Reversing the New Scrolling Settings in Mac OS X Lion

Wednesday, July 20, 2011

If you have installed Lion, you may notice that it acts to mimic the iPad and iPhone in terms of scrolling. As a result, when you flick down, you scroll up and vice-versa.

For some, this may be the missing gap in their life as they are used to manually flicking pages. For others, this may very well be a nightmare that will leave you scrambling for your Snow Leopard disk. Don’t panic, one change in the mouse settings will bring things back to normal.

Go to your Preferences and click Mouse or Track pad. Then, you will see a checked box that reads: Scroll Direction: Natural. Uncheck it and your mouse will be like it used to be, flick down and your page goes down and vice-versa.
