For those of you who are looking for a way to get Lion on an Acer Aspire One, you may have noted a lack in resources. Upon running the Lion installer in Mac OS X on my Acer Aspire One D250, I was greeted with a windows that states that my machine – which has an Atom Processor – won’t be able to run Lion.
Lion requires a processor that is stronger than a Core 2 Duo and essentially will support Intel’s new I series of processors (i3, i5, i7 …)
So that means that 10.6.8 is the highest a Mac enthusiast can get to on the Aspire One and while I am now at 10.6.7 – and content with it, I used a completely different method to get there and figure that it may have been a lucky fluke.
None the less, I will tell you how I got there in a future post and if it doesn’t work for you, you can confirm that it was indeed a lucky fluke.
